Project Soar in Marrakech and elsewhere
Project Soar is dedicated to girls, teenagers. The association, created by American Maryam Montague since 2013, aims to awaken the women of tomorrow to their strengths, their talents, their desires. If the initiative was based not far from Marrakech, the actions of Project Soar are today present in 26 different points on the map of Morocco thanks to a huge and passionate team of volunteers.
Project Soar à Marrakech et ailleurs
Project Soar se consacre aux filles, aux jeunes adolescentes. L’association, créée par l’Américaine Maryam Montague depuis 2013, a pour mission d’éveiller les femmes de demain à leurs forces, leurs talents, leurs envies. Si l’initiative s’est basée non loin de Marrakech, les actions de Project Soar sont aujourd’hui présentes dans 26 points différents sur la carte du Maroc grâce à une équipe de volontaires énorme et passionnée.

400 girls affected per year
The project is aimed at girls in school and offers them the opportunity to attend extra-curricular courses that can awaken their affinities with languages, health, design, sports … Nearly 50 themes are proposed to them so that they can find their way. The one that makes them vibrate and allow them to become strong and determined women, ready to believe in themselves and their abilities. Although education is compulsory in Morocco until the age of 16, socio-economic barriers sometimes make school inaccessible or inegalitarian. Resources are lacking in public schools and gender disparity is spreading.
400 filles touchées par an
Le projet s’adresse aux filles scolarisées et leur offre l’opportunité de suivre des cours extra-scolaires très divers pouvant éveiller chez elle des affinités avec les langues, la santé, le design, le sport… Près de 50 thématiques leur sont proposées afin qu’elles puissent trouver leur voie. Celle qui les fait vibrer et leur permettra de devenir des femmes fortes et déterminées, prêtes à croire en elles et en leurs capacités. Bien que l’éducation soit obligatoire au Maroc jusqu’à 16 ans, des barrières socio-économiques rendent parfois l’école inaccessible ou inégalitaire. Les ressources manquent dans les écoles publiques et la disparité entre les genres s’installe.

Project Soar’s premise is that every girl should have the opportunity to know and express her worth, her voice, her body, her rights and her future. Five founding pillars that distill themselves in all the activities of the association meeting the fifth objective of sustainable development of the UN. The initiative is beautiful. The impact is great. The popularity and importance recognized.

Le postulat de Project Soar considère que chaque fille doit avoir l’opportunité de connaître et d’exprimer sa valeur, sa voix, son corps, ses droits et son futur. Cinq piliers fondateurs qui se distillent dans l’ensemble des activités de l’association répondant au 5e objectif de développement durable de l’ONU. L’initiative est belle. L’impact est grand. La popularité et l’importance reconnues.
